Objective and Focus Areas

The Agriculture activities involve carrying out Integrated Seasonal Condition Monitoring System (ISMS), Crop Area, Production, Soil Resources Mapping, Soil Informatics (micronutrient etc). The studies will be helpful for the evaluation of cropping systems in different districts, for planning at regional level agricultural development such as crop intensification and crop diversification and for integrated development of farming community. TGRAC is rationally and objectively monitoring the seasonal conditions of Telangana using MODIS/ Resourcesat-2 AWiFS data on fortnightly/monthly basis at State/District/Mandal level and submitting the report to the State government in order to plan and implement effective drought management strategies. Effective management and sustainable utilization of natural resources is the need of the hour. There is an urgent necessity to orient towards planning at grass root level for development up to village level, adopting participatory and coordinated approach.
